The musings of a teenage writer

  Sweet progress! Okay since I've last talked to you all I've made quite a lot of progress. I've very almost finished the script for a video essay for the video essay Youtube channel I created. I have also messaged another Amazon self published author, and family friend, in the hopes of joining his writer circle. Finally, I am considering entering a writing competition for other people my age.  The real question is why? Where did all of this work ethic and inspiration come from? Sleep. Do not underestimate the importance of sleep my friends. Last night I went to bed at 8pm and woke up feeling myself again. I didn't sleep longer than I normally do as I woke up in the middle of the night for about three hours but I think I was better rested than I have been in a while. It is truly bizarre,  I woke up feeling and acting myself again. Subconsciously I think college was draining me more than I realised, making me somewhat a husk of myself for a little bit because I wasn'...

  Backwards progress Well you know how I mentioned that video essay I wrote. Well it is gone. I don't know how, but it is gone. 3000 words have disappeared. It is annoying but I'm not too bothered. Give me about a week and I will have another essay written hopefully. It won't be the same thing because I am not going to rewrite the same video essay just yet but I'm sure it'll get rewritten at some point.  Thanks for listening - Theodore Scothern

New progress Today I created two things: a new youtube channel and a patreon. The youtube channel is called Theo Scothern and it is where I plan to upload video essays on any topics that interests me. The second thing I created is a patreon by the same name. This hopefully will be a way for me to express my creativity in a healthy way as well as maybe getting me towards a living built on creativity. On top of that I spent roughly five hours writing a three thousand word script for a video essay for the channel. I am very proud about how the channel looks at the moment. I really hope that some people can enjoy the essays I plan to upload weekly to this channel. I really am going to throw my full self into this in the hopes that it can propel me towards my dream of a living built on my creativity.   Introductions and other rambling Hello, I suppose I should begin this by telling you a little about myself. My name is Theodore Scothern and I'm a 16 year old, Amazon published, writer. At the moment in my life I am studying law (so original) and I feel lost. The more I study of law, the more I learn, the more I realise I don't want to do law for the rest of my life as I had planned to up to this point. I have found myself with that same yearning for a creative living that leads so many of my generation into the trap of wanting to become 'youtubers'.  One night, in an odd honesty brought about by prosecco, I confessed this all to my girlfriend: I don't want to do law for the rest of my life, I want to do something creative with my life.
